I am a poet living and working in North Carolina.
My first book was selected for the Omnidawn First/Second Book Prize by Donald Revell and will be published in the spring of 2015. I am a 2009 Ruth Lilly Poetry Fellow and graduated from the University of Houston in 2010 with an MFA in Creative Writing. My poems have appeared in Poetry, jubilat, Indiana Review, Bat City Review and elsewhere.
I am an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Writing Program and English Department at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. I teach first-year writing, creative writing and literature courses. My interests are in aesthetics, modern and contemporary poetry, and religious studies.
